We Are Proud to Receive GPC’s 2024 Prix EG Award

What an incredible 24 hours for Algoma Steel! From ringing the closing bell alongside all the shortlisted companies of Governance Professionals of Canada (GPC)’s Excellence in Governance Awards 2024 to receiving GPC’s Prix EG Award for Strategy and Risk Management, we’re proud to be advancing Canada’s largest decarbonization project with our transformation to Electric Arc Furnace (EAF).

“This achievement is because of the Algoma Steel team back in Sault Ste. Marie. None of this would be possible without the dedication of each and every one of our employees,” said Rajat Marwah, Chief Financial Officer.

With our EAF project, we’re on track to reduce emissions by up to 70%, supporting Canada’s climate goals and 2030 targets. Our dedicated risk management framework helps us ensure safe and efficient progress every step of the way.
